Velocity Screw Problem - Help!

Ok, so i am in the process of installing a new power tube to go with my new bolt. I succesfully got the valve and hose into the new tube, but when i went to put the velovity screw in, it started acting kinda funny. It didnt want to go in straight at first, but i then got it more or less aligned. I then screwed it in, and it appears to be way in there, but when i try to turn it all the way in it just keeps spinning. I assume this isnt ideal, but im not sure if its really bad. Any ideas or words of wisdom would be great. thanks -ws

you probably stripped the threads..... are you sure you put it in the right way??

What would the "wrong way" be in this case then? the new powertube is just plastic, and didnt seem to have any threading. I just tried to align the screw strait and screwed it in.

I understand. I think it might be stripped, since it wont come out either. If anyone has any suggestions for what to do that would be great, since the velocity is stuck on what i assume is wide open. Does this mean i have to scrap the whole new tube, go through the trouble of getting a new velovity screw, and just reverting back to the stock tube? This is quite frustrating.

ok just take a deep breath and dont be so frustrated. what kind of gun do you have? i ASSUME (lol) its a tippmann so go to tippmann parts.com and buy a new vel. screw if you stripped the threads.

or just go to a local hardware store a buy a grub screw. the velocity screw is a grub screw isnt it???/ not sure the size

Ok, I have a tippmann custom pro, and the bolt/powertube im trying to install is the rufus dawg wicked bolt. I put the valve and hose into the new powertube, and everything was going fine. Then, when i tried to put the velocity screw in the powertube, the powertube itself stripped, since its just plastic like the stock one. Im affraid ill just have to junk the new powertube/bolt combo since the tube is stripped and i cant get the screw out, then purchase another screw.

The one idea I did have though would be to leave the velocity screw in the new tube, even though its stripped, and get a rear velocity adjuster to compensate for this. Does anyone know if this would work?

Theres your problem right there.

Stock bolt is the best. Aftermarket "venturi" bolts are just money-grabbing gimmicks.

Enos is right, when you get the screw out, before you put it back together, take the rufus dawg bolt and throw in in the drawer. you will not get better anything with it, infact, accuracy will probably suffer slightly.

you could leave the screw in and use a RVA, thats fine. its not ideal becuase you want to make sure that the screw is flush with the inside of the powertube to that you cna have no air flow blockage and just tune everything with the RVA.

since it seems like the powertube is stripped, you could order the JCS Gold Powertube (no FVA) and a RVA. this would achieve the same as above ^^

Ok, cool. The only problem is that i cant find the JCS powertube for 98 custom, just for the A-5. Id really like one, but whatever. I figure ill just use the stock powertube and use get a rear velocity adjuster anyways.
