Here's what I did. I bought a better gun, then used my old gun as a loaner. Do that. Much more worthwhile. And, generally, VL guns suck. |

Another 98C? Why do you need auto capabilities anyway? A cheap electro like that wont treat you well. |

If you are getting a backup marker, look into a model 98, you can get
the powerpacks, that include a tank, a mask, and a hopper for like $150
at walmart.

Agreed on getting a 98... if money is an issue, you can probably get a full setup in good condition used (98, air source, barrel, mask, pack, tubes, hopper) well within your price range.
You could spend the money on a new VL... but the money saved isn't gonna do you much good when it craps out on you. |

You should get a pump. I've always wanted one for some reason.
Then when friends play with you, you can trade back and forth to make it "equal". They consume less paint and less air too. |

If you are truly looking for a backup, another gun like the one you have is the best. That way all your parts and knowledge will apply. If you just want something different to add to your collection (which I understand perfectly), then you should just buy whatever you want. That said, VL guns are pretty risky, as are most low-grade electros. |

save $30-$40 more and you can get a Tippmann 98 Pro E.
And then keep the 98c as your back up Edited by BearClaw |

You could look into the new autococker trilogy series. They are
around 200$ and have very good reviews. That is what I was going
to get to have a different gun from my bro but they were out. So
I got a 98c insted and am very satisfiried. Oh they sell those
cockers at **edited**s and sports authority(but sportsauthoriy didnt have
anyin stock or ever will or have)
