If your 98 chops a lot there is a problem with the gun. This can be fixed. If you want a new gun you should get one, but I wouldn't give up on the 98 quite yet.

I think he meant he could help you fix the problems via email/PM. Which some of us may be able to do as well.
I think your 98 problem stems from the Flatline, and possibly mis-matched paint. I would try a straight barrel before resorting to any other measures. You should be able to fix the problem, even if it isn't directly related to the Flatline itself. Most issues can be resolved with a little trial and error. Same goes for your Spyder. So long as your internal o-rings are good, cup seal is good, springs are good... there is no reason why it shouldn't perform decently. Spyders and 98s are both very easy to work on. How much use have these guns seen? How much maintenance has been performed on them? |

close to 6 months of every weekend of paintballing
I usually just clean them before every day when i paintball but it still chops ball and the spdyer will put a spin on it which will shoot different ever time... like one time it might shoot pretty straight the next it may curve right or left. |

Hmmm... what did the guns chrono at?
The curves with the Spyder sounds like it may be as simple as the velocity being set too high. This may also be the case with the Flatline breaking balls. Ideally, for the Flatline... you want something closer to 280fps max. |

u may not want to give up on ur guns so quickly...what if you have problems with your new gun will u also just abandon(sp) it and buy a new gun? learn how to work your guns(if you dont already kno how that is)...and take it apart and not just kno how to unscrew the barrel. seeing many of the guns on the tippy forum, with $300 u can nicely up ur 98c. like people have stated already flatline is picky on paint...i would recommend marbs, diablo, and some zaps, overall mk sure they are small bore paints. now if you are still going to buy a new gun the Ion is ok, i have 1 so does my neighbor...but his has major issues leaks all the time and just a pain in the behind but mine hasent had any problems yet (thank god). if you want a Ion i would recommend buying it from www.e-paintballoutlet.com. thats where i got mine from look under Ratified Ions. Also look into Indian Creek ProMaster which is $349, 2004 ICD BKO $167, 2004 ICD Bushmaster $179. this all can be looked at at www.actionvillage.com or http://www.icdpaintball.com/icd05/panorama_icd.asp. Now you will have to do your hw on these guns becuz i have never shot one but i have heard good things about Indian Creek guns. So....Good Luck with buying your new gun or fixing up your old ones....and if your looking for help on how to fix your guns, people on this forum really kno wat they are talkin about so u should have no problem getting your guns to shoot perfect.
