So, I'm sure most of you saw my combustion cannon, but now its time for another air cannon (I've made one before).  Basically, in our neighborhood there is a huge Christmas Parade.  Well pretty much anyone who wants to be in it can be.  So, I got suckered into "throwing candy", now this is pretty boring but I figured a way to make it more fun.  I'm going to bring a friends air compressor and 2 air tanks.  Plan is tommorow I'm building a "low" powered one.  I'm going to try to make a way to control power, which I'm sure I can do somehow.  I plan on dropping candy down teh barrel and shooting it at a 65-75 degree angle in teh direction of the crowd, hopefully not enough power to hurt anyone (I will not fire it strait at them).  So here is my question, will the police that are always there get mad at me?  And any valid ideas on how to control power? (I was thinking having 2 valves, the first one would be the control, depending on the position of the valve would determine how fast the air would flow).

just dont charge the chamber to 1500 psi and you will be fine.

at a low enough pressure going to the chamer... and having a big enough chamber volume wise... it really shouldn't be a problem...

it could be a problem if the barrel of the thing is skinny and the air is forced out this small hole...

i'd test it out before you go rifling cany canes through people's heads during the parade.

lol... sounds like a feasable plan... but the cops may or may not look at that as a projectile weapon.... make a high powered doughnut shooter for them... call it the krispy cream creamer... or something... dont laugh at me im tired.....

load it with abnormally large jaw-breakers, turn you PSI allllll the way up, and start walking the trigger aiming directly at the fat guy...

Yea, its not worth the risk.  Scratch that idea, I'm just gonna make it with detachable barrels, and have one to shoot paintballs and marbles and another for potatos.  I use my combustion for fireworks now.  Makes cool shows when you pack it with steel wool (sparks/fireballs everywhere).  Or  shooting a potato douced in fuel with steel wool in a casing around the barrel with holes in the barrel, you get a big ball of fire and a bunch of sparks.

heh, 1500 PSI would go through people.

I fire my air cannon with sabot rounds, at 90 psi and I still get a TON of range. You better be thinking around 30-40psi.

Yea, I decided against making an air cannon all together.  Instead I got some parts and made a removable barrel system/breech loading system for my combustion gun.  I also have a new round to test today.  Crushed model rocket fuel in a sealed canaster with a fuse out the back, that should be fun

No, I'm not going to kill myself.  I have this test thing set up.  Its a housing for the gun made of cinder blocks, it has 6 inch thick walls (2 cinder blocks per wall).  I also have a long wire to attach to the ignitor that gives me about 30 feet.  Then I also have  a housing for firing into with 6 inch cinder block walls and I found some plexiglass so I can set up a camera (without it being killed).  If I can get my camera to work, I'll film it.
