I just wanted to know wheather or not the introduction of propane is a good Idea or not. What happens when somebody desides to smoke around one of these C-3's. Even if on the safest playing fields indoor or out there is a chance that some could ignite one of these things.

Given that I use propane in my grill (which involves a big fire) and I haven't exploded yet, I find myself not so worried about the fire hazard.

Been talked over already.
But I will add... I see contractors smoking using Paslode nail guns all the time... haven't seen one blow up. I have friends that smoke around stored propane cannisters used for camping or grilling (same tanks as those used by the C3) as well as 20# tanks commonly used for mosquito magnets and full-size gas grills... haven't seen anyone blow up. People smoke inside their wheeled metal boxes which house gallons of different flammable liquid as they propel themselves down roads... It would take a lot to cause such a disaster. One of the forumers here, Reb Cpl I believe, lit a candle next to a 16.1oz propane bottle... then proceeded to shoot the bottle with a high powered rifle. (Don't try this at home). The result? One would think it would have exploded. All it did was blow the candle out. Are there dangers involved with the Propane system? Yes. There are no less dangers involved with higher pressure air sources. Not for fire... but other serious dangers nonetheless. |

I don't know much about propane, but if there was any sort of likely chance that something could happen, it would have never been sold.

Me and some friends tried that a year ago. Was very disappointed when all it did was produce a cloud/ring of smoke that put out the candle. |
