I'm gettin an A-5 for X-mas but i've heard from friends that the barrel it comes with isn't that great. Any ideas on getting a barrel upgrade?Possibly a boomstick? I play a lot of woodsball and am thinking about trying out a couple 1 day scenarios.

yes, about every gun comes with a bad stock barrel, not terrible, and some of the high end guns come with good stock barrels, but the manufacturs know that the first thing that people upgrade is the barrel and making a good one would only raise the price of the marker.

Besides the few bad ones, all the aftermarket barrels shoot well. Accuracy often has more to do with the paint. I would pick from criteria like material, porting, bore size, ect.
Think and give them all you have from the beginning, and never weaken!

Get a Flatline, because once you adjust the velocity to your liking, it's the baddest thing out there.  Unless your going to be a sniper, in that case go w/ a Stiffi Carbon Fiber Barrel:
