The most popular Dye guns are the DM4, DM5, and now, the DM6. The DM stands for "Dye Matrix", and the number is the series, which pretty much corresponds with the year. (04, 05, 06) The DMC is the Dye Matrix Composite. It is a marker made out of aluminum and titanium, hence the composite name. It is supposed to be the same gun overall, with the exception that it is super high quality, super light, super tough, and super expensive. These markers ONLY run off of low pressure HPA, and will always require a fast hopper. They seem to be pretty reliable, as this is the marker used by a lot of top tournament teams. They are not that upgradeable, because they are already built to the top of the line specifications. These guns should be pretty easy to maintain, but they do require paintball specific lubricant, not what you put on your BE Eradicator that you got from Wal-Mart. Do not get a DM if you have never had a mid-level gun, or are not near someone who knows a lot about these markers.

Currently, the best stock DM is the DMC.

Unless there is something new I dont know about.

DMCs are not made out of titanium... they are made up of aluminum and a composite ( a fancy name for a high quality plastic)... it's basically a DM5 w/ different materials for some of the parts.

the best out there is obviously the DM6.  I finally got to hold one today and wow... it's as light as a shocker and looks amazing and shoots awesome just like any DM.
