Fog

How does everyone keep their lenses on their goggles from fogging up.  I personally, (by accident) discovered that using dish detergent on the lenses helped ALOT.  Only problem with this is I woudl then have to dry the mask well before playing again... this worked well with my JT Headshield and Scott Mask that came with my tippmann 98 powerpak

I guess I probably used the wrong word.... Its not really harsh stuff like detergent... Its standard mild soap...I couldent imagine that stuff actually damaging the lenses... I use the stuff every day to clean my eye glasses and they are fine... idk, Im sure that it is possible that the soap could possibly weaken the lenses

Dude. It's baby shampoo. How much more gentle can it get?

I use dish detergent after playing. It won't hurt the lens and works pretty well for anti-fog in most cases. I coat both sides of the lens with the soap (rubbing it around with my hand), then rinse it off.

I'm good to go for another day of play. On really humid days they might still fog, but almost all lenses will under those conditions if you wear them long enough.

i learned that u shouldnt us window clean the hard way my lense broke.Ive pretty m,uch tryed every thing a is hasnt worked.so i just went an but a fog resisdent mask like a dye

You are absolutely correct with a mild detergent to prevent fog. Dish detergent or baby shampoo will not harm your lens. Products like Windex will eventually remove coatings. Someone suggested putting on the soap then washing it off. That may work but water removes so much that the effectiveness is reduced. Take a small piece(5X5 inches) of soft worn out bath towel (cotton) and moisten it with tap water. Put 4 or 5 drops of detergent on it then squeeze and twist it to throughly distribute it through the cloth then wring it out so it is barely moist to the touch. Keep it in a sealed plastic bag.

When needed, wipe it all over the inside of the goggle lens (wipe the excess moisture off the lens first) then polish dry with another piece of clean soft cloth. This will remove smear marks but leave an effective coating that will thwart the fog for a couple of hours.

Then again, a thermal lens will do the job best.

What about RainX Anti-Fog???
