It runs of extra air that would have otherwise been wasted.

Your spring might be too strong. Try an RVA - they can do wonders for Tippmann efficiency. Or maybe just a spring kit for a lighter drive spring.

Same for me... I have no clue why people say it is an airhog, it is not for me.. I always have plenty off shots out of it, I get many multiple games. |

Generally speaking, no. The RT, like the Cyclone, runs off excess air that would otherwise go wasted. The sole exeption is if you have your gun so finely tuned (using an RVA, for instance), that it throws off no excess air - then it won't be able to run either Cyclone or RT. So it's not that they use MORE air, it's just that they limit your ability to super-tweak your gun. I wouldn't worry about that theoretical issue. More relevantly, if you are playing with CO2, the RT makes you shoot faster - a lot faster. And CO2 requires time to fully gasify for use. Shooting fast tends to not let the CO2 gasify, which can significantly reduce efficiency (and freeze up your gun). For this reason, if you are using RT with CO2, you should look into a remote/Stabilizer/x-chamber/whatever other anti-CO2 upgrade. |
