Is this gun any good? I have read good articles about it, but was
wondering if anyone here has every tried, saw, or used one. A
friend of mine is thinking about getting one because its cheap and will
be adaquate for the 2 or so times a year he plays pb. Any input
would be appreciated..

If he only plays twice a year that would be ok, but I'd look out for a used 98 Custom off ebay.

yea, hes definatly looking for something new in the range of somewheres
between $0-$90. I was looking at the Spyder TX-L (or something
like that), but dont know too much about it, for the price, the TAC-5
looked okay... Ill try checking pbreview.com and see what they say
about the spyder

I'd look into getting a used 98 custom, or rather a used 98. If he only goes out 2-3 times a year, he really has no need to upgrade.

What about a Spyder Imagine? $110. 14 bps. 3 firing modes.

Yea, if he were willing to spend the money, I would say a tippy, but
seeing as hes 13 and does not have a job or any other form of income,
we are kind alooking for something cheep that will do the job... My
other friend purchased a VL Orion from a walmart for like $50 and that
worked adaquatly, but we are trying to get away from the BE/VL brands
into something a little better.

yea, I would recomend tippmann. the other guns you were looking at would end up making you pissed off. Spyders break, jt tacticals are wanna be tippmanns and some of the other guns aren't worth the money. Tippmanns will make you happy im sure because it has everything you could want when you play twice a year.

if he only plays twice a year why waste the money? the only thing i find neet about the tac-5 is that you are able to change which side the feed neck goes, left middle or right.they sell them at wallyworld.but tell you friend to use rentals until he get into it more.only 90 bucks on the discounters
