I've heard that the C3 gets kindof hot. Well, I have a suggestion. For people that already have the C3, and obviously don't have access to a cooling system, Tippmann could make a thing that didn't cool the hot parts, but simply covered them for the C3 owners. Kindof like hot pads. Just as a simple upgrade. It could just strap to or bolt on to any areas that tended to get hot. That way you wouldn't have to worry about burning yourself in the middle of a game. Just a thought.

That wouldn't be the best idea, because then the marker wouldn't dissipate heat making the marker even hotter.

Hmm didn't think about that. I guess its sort of like the whole putting socks on CO2 tanks in cold weather thing. Could do more damage then good.

not necessarily, the m16 has heat shields for its barrel, if youve ever looked at one thats what those holes on the barrel are, so it wouldnt be such a bad idea

He is talking about putting cloth over the reciever, not putting heat shields on a M16. Two compleatly different things.

^^true, but a similar feature would be optimal to the design of the c3, puttin cloth might work, if youve ever seen documentaries, some ppl firing the ak47 use cloth to prevent getting burnt from the barrels heat...but the heat shields arent a bad thought

How is putting a sock on a tank in the cold going to damage anything.

It doesn't get all THAT hot where you need to worry about it.

Even though its off topic, I guess I'll post my theory about the sock thing. Its kindof like the C3 thing, only with cold instead of heat. The reason a sock wil keep the human foot or hand warm is because it hold in heat right? The heat comes from the human body. CO2 needs heat to expand, right? Where does that heat come from? The outside, not from the CO2 itself. The sock will be holding in the cold, and holding out what little heat there may be on a cold day. The best thing to do to keep the CO2 tank warm would probably either be use a remote and keep it close to your body, obviously seperated be something so that it doesn't cause burns on you when it does get cold, or, put some sort of small heat source on it. Nothing like an electric heater, that might be a little dangerous. I was thinking something like those foot warmers.

The thing about the heat shealds are, those are just for the barrels right? I was talking about covering everything that got hot, which would be more then the barrel. If there was a way to route the heat, maybe via some tubes, that may make the whole cloth or heat shield thing possible without holding all the heat in. I just don't know though. I obviously should have thought about it more.

A water cooling system would work pretty well, but it would add to the bulk of the gun. The only option i can think of is a way of converting heat into some other form of energy. Pretty tricky and impractical though.
