I've got an unmodded 98 custom right now that I plan on putting some money into sooner than later. I mainly play about once a month or so and I just play woodsball at some friends' houses. So, as you can expect I don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I was thinking of starting out with a 14 inch Smart Parts Teardrop barrel and an expansion chamber and drop forward. I have my eyes on a Shocktech drop forward and Tippmann expansion chamber kit. Anyway, I also want to get a Viewloader loader of sorts and a Tippmann doublt trigger (not blade). Any thoughts or opinions? I'd be happy to hear them. Thanks for the help.

I would suggest a Lapco Bigshot, or J&J Ceramic over the SP barrel, but thats just me. Also I would recomend getting a Palmers Stabilizer over a X-Chamber, but if you cant afford the stab I would get a Core 8 stage chamber instead. I would recomend a faster hoppr in there also, either a EggII, or a Cyclone. Maybe a firepower upgrade. Other than that the list looks good.

I was under the impression the SP Teardrop was a pretty good barrel for the price, but I also read that you get your money worth with the ceramic. Which barrel is more accurate, quieter, etc. I'm aware that the ceramic shoots through breaks pretty well, so that's a plus.
Also, I'm thinking about the X core, but I need to know what other parts to get. When I buy the chamber, I still need to buy a hose and other parts, right? If so, where can I get them and with the drop forward, what size line should I get?

Ok, If your a looking to get a quiet barrel the Ceramics the way to go. I like the accuarcy of the Bigshot better, but its really loud. The ceramic is quiet. The Teardrop/Progessive is not a great barrel, I had one on the A-5 for a while and I was not impressed.

Once you get your Drop and Chamber I would suggest useing Marco Line instead of Braided steel hose. With Macro Line you can cut it down to size, instead of trying to guesstimate how long of a hose you need.

Yuppers. I'd suggest the Bigshot also.  Best bang for the buck. And if you buy the X-Chamber itself, you'll also need a Vertical Adapter, along with the line. Now as Snake said, Macro Line is way easier to work with, and you can cut it to size. You can get kits that have 3 pieces of macro (1 foot), and (2) 90* macro fittings (which is what you need). You can find all this stuff on www.countysports.com.

As for what hopper, I'd suggest the ViewLoader Revolution (Revvy). Since you aren't getting a firepower upgrade (except the 2x trigger), you won't outshoot the Revvy, which is capped at around 14 bps.

I think I remember something said about marbalizers being very compatable with the big shot. If that's true then I'm in, because I love marbs and I'm very critical about accuracy.

For the loader, I'd like to go with the revvy, but it might be a bit more than I'm looking to spend on a loader. How's the VL Quantum? If I go above that, I'll just get an egg, but I'd rather not spend that much.

So right now, here's what I'm looking at-

1 Lapco Bigshot 14"
2 Shocktech Drop Forward
3 X Core
3 Double Trigger
4 A loader to be named later

I had a Quantum, and Ill i can say is that its a massive waste of money.  It couldnt even keep up with my fully stock 98C.  The egg is what you should go with, and all of your other parts are lokking pretty good.

yes, get the ceramic. what you need for a x-chamber is: 1. Vertical Adaptor 2. the x-chamber 3.(opional)90 degree fitting, new hose? the hose might be fine that you have now. and to find out the size, you are probably just going to have to measure. maybe get macroline. you could find them on county.com, im sure.
Setup:
Tippmann Custom Pro
E-trigger
12" All American
BT Folding Stock
GTA Inline Expansion Chamber Kit
Dead on Pro seal
Cyclone Feed System
Remote Line
Polished internals
