    Posted: 08 January 2006 at 1:34pm

Was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the ProStock 2005 Cocker stock reg has the ability to have a gauge screwed into it?

I was gonna pick one up but didn't know whether to order a gauge with it or not.

Thanks

Dont get a stock WGP reg. I have never seen a stock WGP reg with a guage port in it.
If you want a new Reg, look into a CP Reg the long version has a guage port.

I was gonna buy the gun new... I'm still in a quandry about getting a new gun.  Haven't played in maybe 2 years.

Owned Spyders, Tippmanns, Piranhas, and held a lot of other guns like Ions, Impys, and the like.

Was gonna try to break onto the outlaw/woodsball scene at first but then migrate my @$$ over to going to fields and possibly playing in a few tournaments.

I narrowed my purchases down to either a cocker, ion, or an a-5 with an e-grip.

I'm liking the whole a-5 thing just because I can still use co2 easily and it's cheaper than Nitro, but I like the idea of the consistency behind nitro.

You got any opinions? Everyone has opinions

If your going back into the backyard ball I would get the A-5, but if you are going into tounreys I would look at a Ion. The problem is if you go play a tourney, with a A-5 Egrip running CO2 you will be laughed off the field. Personally I have no qualms about going into a tourney with a A-5 Egrip, running HPA, buts thats just me. What I would do is get the A-5 Egrip, a JCS duel trig, a 7.5" Bigshot barrel, and a Male Stab. That way you can play both backyard ball, and go to the field and play without getting laughed at.

I was thinking the ion with a nitro duck 90ci @ 4500psi. Only thing I heard about the ION is that I need to get a clamp neck for it otherwise I'll have a field day with the hopper.

My only concern with the A-5 would be the gas efficiency on the A-5 with the 90ci nitro tank. In past times a 20oz CO2 usually lasted me all day, the local shop around here only fills to 3000psi so I'd only get about 900 shots out? I have no experience with the A-5. I'd love to stay in the Tippmann family cause that Ion just kinda feels crappy to me. But that's my view I guess.

Maybe I'll go stock class, that will get some laughs

i get only 800 out of a 20z and arent you suppose to get like 1100?

so if your only suppose to get 900 shots out of the tank your looking at 600 maybe more

SP Vision Imp w/ ALL NDZ internals, CP flame drop w/ on/off, Freak-AA tip, lowrise feedneck, NDZ Pro-Mag trigger, tapeworm, NDZ lpr cap, NDZ ti. bolt pin, maybe thats it?

Hey stock class is fun.

I wouldn't go with a 90ci tank though. Those things are HUGE. You might want to look into a SCUBA tank, and fill station to fill your HPA yourself.

If you are playing at a field, you shouldn't have to worry about how many shots per tank you get because they should have Onsite Fills. If you are playing at home, you can use multiple 20oz CO2 tanks. I find with my A-5 that I can still get around 900 shot per tank on a good day.

Huge would be that old 114ci one that Crossfire used to offer

I tried going the Scuba route before it was a pain finding someone around here to fill the small tanks let alone a larger one. I do know with the Ion though according to their calculations since it only operates on like 125psi or some crazy crap like that, it should get like 1,600 shots @ 4500psi out of an 88ci and like 1,000 out of an 88ci @ 3000psi.

Maybe it doesn't seem so bad I guess...

Always liked the looks of the Phantom though and the whole idea behind it. I never wasted a lot of paint per game, I used maybe half a case a day after playing 5-6 games in the woods. I'm not a spray and pray type of guy, coming from a long firearm history. Less any machine guns...

I figured if I wanted get an Ariakon Overlord Pistol (semi) with a Phantom Pump... I could be in 12 gram heaven and not have to worry about much of anything then including the paint bill.

If you are looking into 12g stugg, dont get a pistol. I had a pistol, loved it but it only got 20 shots per 12g...
Get the phantom, I have always wanted one.

I could always go the dark side and get an Electra ACS 05 like my one friend wants... Dunno why he wants he, he has no plans of running HPA so he's just gonna ruin it like he did his e99...

He's a spyder freak too but that's his thing.

Yeah the Phantoms are nice but ain't no way I'm going to be able to handle my own in any tournament with a bunch of kids with semi's. Especially with the latest and greatest technology.
