    Posted: 02 November 2005 at 10:50pm

Ok, so i bought the rufus dawg wicked bolt for my custom pro, and I want to install it. I totally stripped my gun, got the powertube out, (still conected to hose) but I cant manage to get the hose unscrewed. My palm really hurts from the wrench, and I cant think of what to do. The bolt/new power tube instructions and the tippmann manual make it sound like this should be easy. Is there a good way to do this?

Put the powertube in a vice(Try and not to over tighten and crack the powertube). Then get the right sized cresent wrench and unscrew it.

I think Tippmann uses loctite so you really have to give it some muscle. I would sujest heat, but that might melt the powertube.

if you put it in the vice make sure you only put the fat part of the powertube in it and not the skinny part....you can also get a pair of channel locks and hold the fat part of the power tube with them and then use your other hand to loosen the nut with a wrench

use a vise and a 7/16" end wrench, it takes alot to break it loose but once it starts moving it goes really eaisly.

Take a hair dryer to heat up the connection, that will loosen the loctite and make the hose EASY to remove.  Otherwise, you could risk stripping the nut part on the hose.  Use the proper size box wrench, or preferably a closed wrench.  DO NOT use a Cresent if it's that tight, only use the PROPER wrench (I believe tigman250 said it's 7/16").

This heating technique is used to loosen anything that has Red Loctite.

Wow, you kids are really that weak...when I removed the Steel Braided Hose from the stock Power Tube for the RT Power Tube, it was easy....if your right handed, use the left hand to hold the adjustable wrench and use the right hand to turn the Power Tube, the same goes for lefty's.

I think that someone was a bit more generous with the Loctite on my gun. It wouldnt budge before. Thanks for all the suggestions though, im bringing it to the shop next week.

Hey you could try loosening the locklite by pushing it to make it tighter then pull it back to make it looser and wiggle it around and then unscrew it

I know this is pretty old but how do you like that bolt and new power tube? Is it worth it, can you even tell a difference? I was just thinking about buying one because I'm gonna buy their double trigger and center feed.

I think its agreed here that stock tippmann bolts are better then the after market ones...

center feed is worth it though if your willing to do the milling
