    Posted: 14 January 2006 at 5:11pm

I am a first time paintballer and just purchased an A-5 with flatline barrel, egrip, jcs double trigger, rufus dawg bolt, HPA tank.  I have shot it twice now and I am breaking balls in the barrel.  I dont have a crono to check the velocity so I am not sure if this is my problem or if its the type of paintballs.  I need help!!

It could be the paint you are using. Are you using cheap paint or has it been lying in the cold for a while.

Most likely it's the paint. Marbs work the best wit the flatline. also after 1 break in the flatline you have to thourougly clean the inside of your barrel becasue goop gets down into the groves of the inside of the barrel. In closing welcome to the forum and welcome to paint ball.

The only paintballs I have tried so far are the Draxxus Premium.  I am going out tommorrow and I will try evils, and blaze.  I will have to get some marballizers.  I will switch back to the stock bolt and see if that will help too.

Thanks for the help!!!

Ya good paint is a must for a flatline. Also consider using the stock bolt. A lot of people will tell you its better.

Also, sorry but...

Now that you have read the chant, you will meet this little girl. In the middle of the night she will be on your ceiling. She will suffocate you like she was suffocated. If you post this, she will not bother you. Your kindness will be rewarded..."

Blaze is the best paint I have ever used and it works great with the flatline. I think blaze is the best bet.

For the Flatline to work good, you need good, small sized paint.  You're velocity also needs to be down around 270 or so.

And if its cold out, the paint (no matter the size or quality) may be the problem.  Cold weather and paintballs do not play well together. What I do is take three or four chemical hand warmers and put them in one side of a cooler. Put your bags of paintballs in the other side of the cooler (don't let them touch the hand warmers). Remember to keep the lid shut...  You're trying to keep it about 50* or better inside the cooler. Keep the cooler out of the weather too if you can. Keep it in the car between games.

wow, for a first timer you picked out a hell of a setup.  A chrono is probley your problem.  The same thing happened to me with my 98c+flatline.
98% of ion owners think ions are better than any high end gun. If you would like to bonus ball these idiots put this in your sig.
