    Posted: 24 January 2006 at 4:31pm

I've been looking all over and can't seem to find anywhere to buy the vertical adapter for a 68 carbine! I was going to buy it from 888paintball.com    Went to order it a week later and was told they no long made them. I also placed a order at www.fuzionpaintball.com and i'm guessing they are no longer ( not answering there phones or my emails ) If anyone knows where I can get one please let me know. I already bought a 8-stage expansion chamber and can't put it on

Thanks for any help

Check your local proshop. They may not have one, but they may know where to get you one.

Theyre getting really hard to find nowdays.

County used to have them up, but I dont see them anymore.

You could try calling Tippmann direct, sometimes they have older parts laying around. They might not have the kit, but they may have just the adapter itself. Its 1/8 NPT threaded so any standard gas lines can be used to plumb it.

Checkout the PCOG. There is normally a few in the B/S/T section.

Tippmann is Closed right now, that is why your call is not going through. Call back in a few hours.

I hate the look of the big brass fittings! I know I can run marco lines from the asa to the expansion chamber, but my question is... can I run macro lines from the vertical adapter to the valve?

You can run Macro if you wanted. On mine, I just used short steel braided line and nickel-plated elbow fittings.

My vertical adapters had the second hole for a gauge.
Won't perform any real function with CO2... but should you decide to utilize one, get a 1200-1500psi gauge.

Thanks for the info. I just wanted to know about the gauge because I like the way they look and I'll be able to tell my when tank is starting to kick when the pressure drops

I've been looking around on ebay and there are a bunch of Vertical Adapters for sale. Just type in " Tippmann Carbine " and look through the listings.

ShortyBP - Why such a high psi gauge?

CO2 typically runs in the 700-900psi range. Sometimes higher... all depends on the temperature (hotter it is, higher the pressure)

So in the dead of winter... it'll be in the low range.
Mid-summer... it'll be in the high range.

Anyway... with that in mind...

Never get a gauge that is rated towards the top end of the pressure you'll be running. Increases the risk of you blowing the gauge. So even if you're running at 600psi... using a 600psi gauge is not recommended because should you have an unexpected spike... you'll blow the gauge.

Not that it matters much for CO2... but for future reference should you go with HPA... gauges are also more accurate at their mid-points. So if you get a gun that runs on lower pressure... if you set your regulator to 300psi output, you're gonna want a 600psi gauge. A 300psi gauge will run the risk of you blowing it with a spike. A 1500psi gauge will be too hard to read.

Which gauge do you think I should get?

The 32 Degrees 1200psi

http://www.888paintball.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/146 0371/vpcsid/0/SFV/30842

or...

The Bob Long 1200psi

http://www.888paintball.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/146 0365/vpcsid/0/SFV/30842

I think the 32 Degrees would be easier to read because it uses the whole face where the bob long has the bottom half with a logo
