I'm at the point where I'm looking into the pen spring mod, and I was just wondering how did ya'll cut your pen spring down to size?

I think the stock springs are 7 or 8 coils, and I was wondering, how many coils should I make the pen spring?

Cut it so its the same size.

About the pen spring mod, I wouldn't do it. It wont help you at all and the only time you'll notice anything is when you dont have an air tank on the marker. The trigger spring isnt even needed. Take it completely out and dont replace it if you wish.

okay, but do you know what'll cut it?  Like should I use scissors or what?  Any suggestions, this sounds really stupid but I'm just wondering the best way or a way that worked for you/someone.

Anything will cut it. If you can't find something that will try fingernail clippers. I still wouldnt bother doing it for reasons stated in my above post.

Makes sense, what you said I mean.

Is the trigger spring that unnecessary?  Just looking to lighten the pull...If you have another suggestion for this that'd be great.

Also, will taking it out decrease/increase or keep the trigger pull the same?

Most of the resistance you get when firing is from the sear spring, and i would highly suggest you not messing with that.

Best way to get a lighter trigger pull is the E-Grip/E-Bolt.

So you have the E-Grip?

I suppose lightening the pen spring would help then. I've never bothered trying it with my E-grip but I think it should work.

I don't think a knife would work. Just get a pair of snips or something that you'd use for metal.

And are you talking about the APE trigger? If do, I don't know anything about them. But I'd get the Elgler trigger.

Dang, thats too bad, already got the RD Stick Trigger, it was cheap and I don't mind if its not that good, until it breaks on me of course.

But anway, I just clipped it with some sheers and installed it and everything, holy crap the pull is lightened 2 fold.  This is really cool.  Don't have the new trigger installed yet, but if it holds up it should be mad  fun shootin' this thing.  Thanks for everyones help and suggestions, much appreciated.

Suzuki, I was talking about the APE Board..

Use a side cutter, wire cutters , if they are not tempered you might notch the cutter.

ouch,  do I detect a hint of contempt in your words?

See instead of, 'cut the spring? well lets see it is made out of metal wire. so what do you use to cut metal wires? they are called "pliers" just to let you know'

All you really had to say was "pliers"

AHAHAHA thats because you were like me, sitting there, trying to cut it with scissors, and it won't cut.  And you feel like an idiot, because u can't cut it with scissors like a normal person... yeah i just used wire clippers, check your dad's tools for one :p

i completely ruined those scissors...

Oh, and just take it out.  it's much better without the spring period.  Or, you could replace your sear spring with it.
