    Posted: 28 January 2006 at 11:20pm
Hey, im new to this forum so..lol work with me..and sorry if this is in the wrong place..

I've been using my buddys 98c for quite some time now,. He now wants it back to sell it and wants to know if  want to buy it from him.. if i were to buy the 98c i would add onto it... but... Ive had my eye on the a-5 for awhile now and im wondering if its worth buying. if i were to buy the a-5, i would get the flatline, the car stok, probably a red dot sight n a remote coil..(i only play wood ball)

do u think i should buy and trik out the 98c or buy the a-5 and trick that one out. (money is not a factor)

another question..whats ur input about the flatline(A5) any good or should i just buy a longer barrel..because ive heard that the flatline is noooo good close up.

thanks in advanced

A-5. It's basically an improvement of the 98. Not just because of the cyclone but it also has a vertical adapter, removeable grip to access trigger parts easily and you can pop the internals out easier by removing the end cap.

And a longer barrel will not give you any extra distance in your shots. The flatline and Apex barrel are the only two barrels that'll allow you to shoot further.

The flatline will not give you greater accuracy than something like a Bigshot at all, if you want accuracy the flatline is not the way to go, the flatline is more useful psychologically than practically since it is inaccurate the range just gives you 'range control' but will not neccessarily make you more effective at eliminating other players. I also  play only woodsball and I have a red dot sight and I am planning on getting a remote cord very shortly. I wanted to get a flatline and a stock but after alot of research I found that the flatline was not at all suited to my play. Considering my theory of 'the fact that it it only one hit/break that is going to count to get the player out it may as well be the one you shoot', I found that a highly accurate barrel (i.e. Bigshot considering its price though there are much more accurate barrels out there... $$$). I can not tell you which barrel you should get, but I suggest you clearly decide what your style of play is and what you want to be capeable of, and then research more about the barrels. I do however, strongly reccomend the Bigshot considering my own research.

well the J&J and the Bigshot, are very close competetors so if it pleases you every time I say bigshot you can substitue J&J. Both are accurate though the Bigshot supposedly has a little more accuracy, the J&J is quieter. I have decided against the flatline due to lack of accuracy. I was looking at the 98c for as my choice in gun because I don't use a high rate of fire (ROF) at all and the 98c is a little lighter, but I guess the a-5 is newer and porbably just marginally nicer. I think it my be a little diferent internally, though I am not sure if that changes preformance a whole lot... this is really not my area of knowlege. I do hear that the apex is more accurate than the flatline however I don't know if it can compare to a Lapco or J&J in accuracy.

I think you should get the 98 because your probly used to it by now and it has lots of upgrades to keep you in the game also it is like indestructible so you probly wont have to replace it for years

Buy the 98c because you can buy a red dot scope and sniper equipment to be just as good as the A-5 in woods ball.
I love my Tippman 98 custom!

in my mind it all depends what type of player you are.

If u like to snipe then go with the bigshot or a sniper barrel.

If u like to rush the other team for an early win then go with a shorter barrel.

I snipe and i own both a sniper barrel and a bigshot.

You are not a sniper. The length of the barrel has nothing to do with anything.

and buy the way, I have not said to buy it because it is a sniper each time, I have said that There are enless possibilities for all of the possible stocks, scope's, trigger's and other equipment so do not ever tell me that I say buy it because it's a sniper. I give good information about what the guns differences are. I have studied every paintball buyer's guide since 2003.
