Okay, I took my C-3 to a field last night to get it chronoed and maybe mess around with it a little. I was loading the balls 1 by 1 and when I would pull the trigger, sometimes it would fire, sometimes it wouldnt. When I would cock the marker again after firing, Smoke would rise from the feed neck. Grey, wispy smoke. I've never heard of this happening before....so I disconnected the tank and put it away until I could figure something out here. I haven't consulted my manual yet, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem, or knows what the deal is. |

You may need to adjust your fuel mix if it isn't firing consistently.

Thats what I would suggest as well. Ive had to adjust mine a couple times as the regulator spring pack begins to wear in. |

All fuels produce smoke if the fuel/oxygen or fuel/air mixture is wrong. Thats probably your problem.

Regulator Adjustment: Make sure there are no paintballs in your marker and hopper when you adjust the regulator. The regulator controls the air/fuel mixture and the marker will not fire if the mixture is too rich or too lean. It is set at the factory for best performance. This setting may need to be adjusted over time as the internal parts break-in or if the unit has been disassembled for service. The regulator adjustment knob is located at the front of the regulator body and is adjusted as follows: 1) Turn the adjustment knob clockwise all the way with a 3/16” allen wrench to completely shut off the flow of gas. 2) Turn the adjustment knob 1/2 turn counterclockwise; pump the marker several times and attempt to fire in a safe direction. Repeat this process until the marker fires for the first time - then go 1/2 turn further. This setting should offer the best performance (The range between too rich and too lean is approximately one full turn - the ideal setting is half way between).

Yeah, the fuel mixture was the problem. I got it fixed in no time. Turns out, someone was monkeying with it at home while I wasnt there, and played around with it. I knew I didn't touch the mixture setting, so that didn't cross my mind when I started having the smoke problems. ugh. Thanks fellas. |
