I am asking this question here because it is after all the Tippmann
forum and I can't get a straight answer from anyone. I would like to
know if there is an E-trigger for the 98c. If so, I would like to know
where you can get it. thank you.

i've seen the e-bolt but it is too expensive for me. JcKa, what did you mean by e-grip on newer 98c? and how do I know if mine is "newer" or "older"? |

Tippmann changed the insides of the new 98C's. So now they can be upgraded to use the e-grip also.

If your guns sear/trigger setup look like this, then it's an older 98c, and you can't get the E-Grip. However, if your sear/trigger setup's different than in that pic, than you can get the E-grip for your 98c. You can buy them at www.countysports.com, under Custom Pro accessories.

The E-Grip is for the A-5, and the E-Trigger is for the newer 98c's and CP's. But they're both called each other, so it doesn't really matter what you call it. And make sure you look at the pic above to make sure your 98c has the newer milling. And like said above, you can purchase the E-Trigger at www.countysports.com under CP accessories. |

Exactly what I said earlier, with a lot more explanation.
Gabby, Egrips/Etriggers can work on newer 98cs because of the way they're being milled, which is to fit these egrips/etriggers. They've been milled that way for I think a year or two now. Ebolts are a lil bit better, and they were made specifically for the 98c, and it features a 17 bps cap, and you can install a DM4 board I think. But its discontinued and is very expensive. They have 6 available at a-1paintballstore.com, and ebay has a bunch, but the best place to get 'em from what I hear are to find friends or whatever that bought them like a year or two ago, and then just buy their whole gun for like $100 bucks, because you're such a good friend ;). |

SuzukiRider, my gun does look alot like the pic you posted but I don't
know what I'm comparing it too. Do you or anyone have a pic of the
right milling (the one i need for an E-grip).
One more thing. Is the e-grip you guys are talking about the one for the custom pro? In other words, am I basically bying the custom pro e-grip in the hope that it fits the milling on my 98c? |

How old is your 98c? only the 2k5+ models can accept the E-Grip. The Newer models milling is different than the milling shown in the pic. There is more room in the reciever to accept the Egrip. |

Mine is about a year old. I have no way of knowing what model mine is.
I am however pretty sure now that mine is the older milling, so my
dreams of an e-grip are pretty mush scrapped. I'll probably get an RT
now if anything.
Thanks everyone though, for posting on this thread. I've learned alot more becuase of it. This helps me in more ways than one. |

I would suggest getting an EBolt. It is worth more than what you pay for it.

Snake6's suggestion that you obtain an E-Bolt is an excellent one. It is not just an upgrade, it changes the marker so much that it moves it into another dimension of Electro-Pneumatic operation. I have it in my 98C and would NEVER go back to a purely mechanical marker. Now, as to what fits inside your 98C in the way of an electric trigger. The telltale point in whether you have to newer issue or not is the way the spring causes the sear to engage. The older 98C use a spring that pulls on the lower end of the seat causing the other end to raise up to engage the hammer notch. The newer design uses a spring that is located so that it pushes the sear up to engage the notch. The newer model incorporates a small perch on which this spring sits to do its pushing job. The old spring's bottom end anchors on a pin so it can pull on the lower end of the sear.

An ebolt replaces a bunch of parts with electronic ones(and i mean more
than just the trigger) I don't like it for several reasons...(this does
not mean it is bad for everyone. I'm just stating my reasons)
1) it converts your gun into an electronic gismo. Fine for some, but I want durability. ebolt just means more delicate parts to clean and care for. 2) the price 3) I have no need for the "faster" speed it offers over an e-grip. For one thing, I don't intend to go over 10 bps anyway. In woodsball, I don't need to compete with faster guns. I'd rather have accuracy than speed. Iam just getting full auto for the fun of it and the intimidation factor. so no, i am not getting an ebolt. To each his own i guess. |
