Cock it before you put the bottle on.

the bolt is pressing down on the valve pin and opening the valve, thus leaking air down the barrel. Like KM said, just simply cock the gun before gasing up the gun. It's normal for your gun to do that, in fact if you read your owners manuel it states in the manuel to cock the gun before gasing it up.

This has got to be the dumbest question I've ever read on these forums. |

Environmental variables. Sometimes the uncocked hammer pushes hard enough to open the valve, sometimes it doesn't. No biggie. |

Everyone gave you the answer, but you should tell your buddy that the leaking when the marker is un-cocked is pointed in the operating manual. I know no one reads them, but it might be a good time to do it...because there is a lot more useful info there. Also you might read the stickies and the top of the forum subject lists. Those tell you all kinds of good stuff, sometimes with pictures, to keep the marker functional. You can gain a lot of knowledge very quickly there also. |
