For paintball purposes, no it is not worth the extra money you will be spending. The really huge difference between it and regular woodland is that MARPAT is harder to pick up on nightvision equipment. I owuld go with multi-cam over MARPAT for paintball purposes.

I thought that say if you were 50yards away wearing oldschool US camo your out line would more visible then if you were wearing MARPAT at 50 yards. I could be wrong but theres no way id spend that kind of money on camo, unless Its for hunting. I prefer to were Real Tree camo BDUs and a long sleeve shirt of some kind when Im paintballing.

I prefer hunting camoflage. Real Tree or Advantage. Theres also a really good conifer camoflage if your playing around a lot of evergreens.

My uneducated opinion based on my own experiences, is that MARPAT is really great. I have played with and against woodland, realtree, and tigerstripe, as well as MARPAT, and MARPAT outdoes them all, by a long shot. Heck, I can't even see myself in my own basement. MARPAT blends into everything and anything - it's just hard to focus on, even when you are looking straight at it. Is it worth the extra cash? Up to you. Is it better? IMO, yes. |

I bit the bullet and bought a set. Got genuines from eBay, new condition. Commercial copies marketed by Tru-Spec are decent, and not much more than standard new BDU cost. SportsmansGuide and other catalog/internet sites have them for what you'd pay for other new BDU sets. I have WAAY too much woodland camo. US Woodland, Dutch DPM, German Flectar... plus others. All great camo, but the MARPAT outdoes them. The pixel-deal somehow really works very well. Chose MARPAT over CADPAT-types, for the brown. CADPAT utilized more greens... the lighter brown of the MCCUUs offers more diversity. The Army's ACU is awful for wooded play. Awful. All of my other woodland-type camo is bound to be sold or stashed as loaners. I'm even debating getting a set of desert MARPATs to replace my 3-color and 6-color DCUs. Pattern aside... I like the functionality of the MCCUUs better. Sleeve pockets are great. Velcro closure on chest pockets is great. Inner slots for inserting pads at the elbows and knees is great. Just a great uniform overall. |

Personally I put it this way: Everyone says that the New MARPAT or digi is the greatest thing ever because it looks like one greenish thing from a distance... But since its basically one color from a huge distance Isnt that just like olve drab? Personally I use my dad's BDU's (US Woodland) because for one its free, But I would think that this breaks up my shape better, Plus I also like my last name sewed on the front |

The seller I bought from who had the genuines currently does not have any listings. However a quick search on eBay for "MARPAT" or "MCCUU" should bring up results you can browse thru. Commercial copies: SportsmansGuide CheaperThanDirt Froogle.com search will bring up more results.
Hard to imagine with just words. The difference is clear if you put two people standing near each other against a wooded backdrop. |

yeah sometimes i find it kinda pointless to wear camo cuz normaly you are slose enough to see eachother and then whats the point of spending the money. well anyways wear ever i go play i always wear bright random clothes. like one time i was wearing a boston bruins hockey jersey and bright pink snow pants. i kinda stuck out but it didnlt really make a diffrence.
