Got this BT barrel and handguard this evening and immediately
began converting my other A5 into this. I've always liked the AK
weapons (as evidenced by my repeated use of AK mags) ans decided
to finally begin making one. Here it is after one evening.... like the
MP5 conversion I'm also working on...there will be more to come.

Nauz

Not much to it yet but it's a start. Yes, it has an egrip.

Photo One:

Still haven't started the drybrushing, but I did find yet another JCS
folding stock (which is really a very good stock) in the old parts box.
The really cool thing is, take a look at how the butt plate of the stock
follows the line of the mag....almost as if they were made for each
other.

Photo Two:

Incidentally, Opsgear sells the BT AK barrel assembly for $109.95. I
got this one at Hobbytown USA for $79.95. $20.00 savings and no
shipping charges added either!!

Yeah, it really does at this point....like i said, just a start. I've only
painted it black at this point. I'll probably do the drybrush worn look
on this one too. We'll see

I'm open to suggestions.

AK stock, dry brushing, and maybe a different red dot. Looks sweet as it is, so you shouldnt have to do a whole lot more. Nice job!

The red dot site on this gun is the same one I used on the MP5 (See
"A5 MP5 Mod & Opsgear Parts Review") now moved to "Upgrades and
Customizing". I've since put the standard round red dot site on the
MP5 because of the upper rail.

On the AD though, there is no upper rail (yet) and this site fits
perfectly there. Dunno yet.. the jury is still out.

How does the weight distribution feel? My old G36 was heavy and I was wondering about the OpsGear AK's.

Good question Wook...the thing is unbelievably light! This is the
lightest of any of my three A5's. It's really surprisingly light. I haven't
shot it yet so I can't offer any information on the performance, but it
does look pretty good in the flat black in a "spetznazzy" kind of way.
