In the A-5 manual it says screw velocity screw in past receiver.what does this mean,and how am I supposed to know when it is in past the receiver?

note: I'm in the manual where it says"field stripping"

just means so that its not sticking out of the body.

You can also remove/unscrew it all the way out.

Srew it in until the top of the screw is about 1/8" into the hole.
