Do you have an electric hopper or a cyclone?

Take 10 paintballs from your case, and drop them on the hard floor from a distance of 5 feet. No more than 2-3 should break. If more than 3 break, you need to get paint with a harder shell.

Whats most likely happening is you have a poor paint to bore match. Place a paintball in the breech end of the barrel, if you cannot see a little bit of light down the sides of the ball your paint is to large.

that and its probably cold where you live, do the 10 ball drop test,
after letting the paint sit outside for a good hour. whenever
paint gets in cold, dry air, the moisture is pulled out of the shell and
into the air making the paint very brittle and break-prone. i
would bet money that when it warms up, you will have better luck.

check to see if the cyclone ratchet is worn.
Do this by putting your finger in the cyclone and use the manual push rod to cycle it. Do this a few times to see if it slips. I believe the theory is that a ball could partially load into the chamber and get chopped.

I was thinking ratchet as well, but if there is no paint in the Cyclone at all it probably is just a paint/barrel issue. I would look into the ratchet anyway, though - if you haven't replaced it yet, it is bound to become a problem eventually. |

its a pita to take the bottem cover off. The screws are a fine phillips, but they are so tight that it is impossible to get off with a small screw driver. So you might want to order some new screws when you order the ratchet.
Mine looked fine when I took it off. it was the newer brown plastic one. I figured I would order a spring, screws, and ratchets. Just do It all when I had it opened.

check the barrel for burrs, and your paint to barrel match. If there is no paint in the cyclone, then it's not the bolt or the cyclone. If your bolt breaks a ball, it'll end up in ur entire gun... which sucks. I'm definitely guessing this is ur barrels problem.
