I have a bit of an issue.  When I am just messing with my trigger (without gas), half of the time the sear will go flat (the position it releases the rear bolt in) and not go back up.  I think it could be because of my solenoid on my e-grip.  Does anyone have a clue how to fix this?  Maybe put a drop of oil in the solenoid?

No oil.

First, change batteries.

If that does not work.  Take the E grip Off of the gun and hold slight pressure on the armature pin (the long pin that contacts the sear).  Then hold slight pressure on the armature pin with your finger then pull the trigger.  The pin should nearly pop out of the grip (It will if your finger isnt in the way).

Also, take the solenoid out of the grip and pull the bottom part of it out and clean the insides of the solenoid and the sides of the solenoid armature.  Also make sure it seats correctly within the solenoid.

If the grip functions correctly with the pressure from your finger, then the sear spring probably does not have enough tension to return the armature back to the resting position.  (which is what happened to mine).

I did a temp fix of this by swapping out the sear spring  with the trigger return spring (the red one).  The trigger spring has a little bit more tension.  I plan on sending it back to tippmann.  I called thier tech support and they told me to send it in.

I just noticed that you have the APE board in your egrip.  Did you install it yourself?

Sorry for the late response.  I've been a bit busy.  I know for a fact that it will shoot the armature pin clear out of the grip, and I have changed the batteries, so it must be the spring.  I will try all those things again though.  Yes, I installed the APE board myself.

Have you used the grip since you swapped the board out?

I hope the spring swap and solenoid cleaning does the trick.

I have tinkered with it, but I have not played with it.  I did everything you said.  It was the spring issue.  Thanks for the help.

Sweet, I am glad it worked.

fwiw, I called tippmann about mine, and was told to mail it to them.  I havent done this yet because I did not want to be without my gun for a few weeks.  I should break down and do it eventually.
