    Posted: 20 March 2006 at 2:13pm

I've perused a lot of posts here talking about upgrading internals not being worth the money..  So, as an inexperienced (read: New) A5 Owner, Im trying to figure out what to do to get the best Mechanical Function out of my Gun.

I just bought an Egrip, a BT AK Front End, an OPsGear Raider Folding Stock, and an AK Mag to complete the EXTERIOR of the Gun...  Now I'm trying to fiure out the best way to Finish off the INTERIOR...

What  Im reading is that I should stick with the Stock Internals, and not mess with those, right?

And if that's the case.. then there's nothing more I need to do to the Gun.. Or is there?

Any ideas would be appreciated..

My opinion... stock internals are fine, and no need to upgrade.

So Aside from the internals and the Trigger Frame, are there any other worthwhile upgrades for the A5?

As stated in the original post, I just purchased the WAS Egrip, and a BT AK Front end..  whle I also realize that the AK Barrell might not be the most Accurate, i'm sure it will handle what I want it to do...

I suppose I could aim for a nice Shocktech Regulator, or even better, a Palmer's...  I was hoping to look for things that wouldn't change the outward MilSim Appearance of the gun though...

Thanks for the Input so far.. you guys ROCK..

Stick with what you have for now. Sure, it's "cool" to have every umpty upgrade on the market... but will it actually be worthwhile? Will it actually be an improvement? Or will you add so much stuff where it actually becomes a detriment?

Little bit at a time. Determine what you NEED and what you WANT after you already have some experience under your belt with your current rig.
Please (and this is something everyone should keep in mind) do not just blindly buy upgrades because people on an online forum told you they were cool, and were the thing to get.   Spend that money on paint and air, get more game time in... and then determine what you need and want.

You could get an MP Mag from spec ops.  It's designed to house a Palmer inline reg.  It could also work as a gas-through.

Don't hate the player...
Hate the game.

Polish, get an APE board and top it off with a QEV (quick exhaust valve) for the cyclone so you can shoot 20-26 bps.
Tippmann A-5/Zeus G1
E-Grip /w APE board
QEV
Vortex
Flatline
Dye UL 14 in.
R5 Hopper
Lapco offset rail with Tac Light/Scope
OpsGear MP5 Sliding Stock
OpsGear MP5 Mag kit
SpecOps Front grip

Not. I would like to see any cyclone cycle 26 bps. 20, maybe but not 26.

You should polish the internals... do u know what that is? it makes the operation of the moving parts a lot smoother (you should get a little more effiency and just a better performing gun)

send me a private message if u want some help

Setup:
Tippmann 98c
16" Progressive Barrel,Custom short barrel,Drop Forward,M4 Stock,HPA,CycloneFeeder,Polished Internals,E-Grip,Removed Frontgrip,Laser,Rocket Cock...

defintitely get a QEV for the cyclone. I'm not going to argue with anyone about how many balls per second it allows, but it is worth it nonetheless. And, as stated before, a palmers (male) stabizer will help lots with consistency. Thats all I would do, it sounds like you setup is pretty good right now!!! Research the QEV a little,  you will want to call Tippmann for the larger fittings and hoses for the cyclone...1/8" i think.  Make sure you know what your doing before polishing the internals. Its not hard, I just want you to be careful! Anyway, you can search that too to find out exactly what to do. Hope this helps dude!

I would consider upgrading to HPA if you have the money. It would make your gun much more efficient and you wouldn't have to sacrafice your MilSim look. Just a though. There are many other upgrades though. You should probably just play with the setup you have now and if you feel something needs upgraded, feel free to do it.
