Hi, I am willing to get an Ion, but what worries me is the maiteneance it may need. I am a recreational player. I like fun and dynamic games, not to have to spend 20 minutes between games fixing or adjusting my marker. I also want a marker that will last some time just with the proper care, not having to replace parts every month. Analizing these facts took me to think that the electra would be a better choice due to the easy and brief mainteneance it needs. Any advise will be apreciated, but please only post if you actually have knowladge about this guns. It would be great if someone who actually owns one of these guns PM me.
Thanks for your help!
PD: Please, no more "spyder suks" posts. New models do promise . Edited by raflexjrsr - 24 March 2006 at 9:52pm |

IONs are pretty solid. I'v used em quite a bit, and been shot by em to.
They arn't unbrakable like a Tippmann but no gun is. I'd say go to a field or proshop, ask about a few guns, CPproEs,Ions,wraiths,AR1s. See if you can shoot or use a few and then make your choice, no one can tell you what you like or need in a paintball gun.

Pretty much any marker will give you good service right out of the box. They all require basic cleaning and lubrication from time to time, but it's not brain surgery or rocket science.
Adjustments should be limited to velocity settings, that way you won't mess anything else up. As you learn more about your marker you can begin tweaking on it. An Ion is a good gun. One of the guys on my team has a heavily modded Ion, and he prefers it over his higher end stuff. |

A few kids I play with have Ions and they take some beatings but are always properly cleaqned and maintained. As long as you dont let it wear down and waste away. you'll be fine. As with all markers, a simple cleaning does a lot.

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.
