the egrips fit onto the newer 98c because they have the same internals as the pro. |

there are those who make a clean surface before they take pics of their
guns and then their are those who just like to show everyone all the
stuff they have along with their gun. i could go either way.
nice gun. nice axe, nice red marker, nice computer... oh, and nice 58 cents too. Edited by duck_tape - 19 March 2006 at 2:06pm |

I'll post its specs again for ya guys hehe..
===================== -Tippmann 98C -Interceptor Fluted 18" -Raider Weaver Handgaurd -Raider Raised Rail System -Cyclone Feeding System -M4 Varient Magazine -Pro E-Grip Upgrade -Custom Built External E-Grip Battery Box -Stinger Double Trigger Kit -Rocket Cock II Plate -TAC Cap Low Profile Loader -Pro Scenario Folding Stock -Coiled 5' Remote ===================== 90% of the gun came from OpsGear. Mostly Raider parts, including 18" fluted barrel and handguard/raised rail system. And yes, it's true, the Pro's E-grip drop-in kit works with the 98 Custom, just not the Model 98. The holes for ROF and Mode Select on the grip were already there when I bought the gun without any upgrades.. however, I -did- have to poke 2 holes in the rubber moldings on the grip to fit the screwdriver in to make such adjustments to speed and mode. The only downside to the 98C with an E-grip, is the fact that you have to take your gun apart -every- time your 9V Battery needs to be changed, unlike the A5 where the grip just comes off after a few pins are removed. =P I had a reponse trigger on there for maybe 10 minutes, then decided to put an E-Grip on(had a much nicer feel, even though I don't shoot auto). To make things a bit easier on myself, I went out to Radio Shack and bought a small "Electronics Project Box" and some 9V battery connectors.. all in all, spending about $5. I daisy chained the connectors from the inside where the battery should sit outside of the gun thru the hole that needed to be popped out for my Cyclone's RT adapter, just behind where the RT's adjuster would be. I fed the daisy chain into the project box and mounted it behind my cyclone on the right side, far out of the way of my sights, my folding stock, and the release function of the cyclone. To change an E-Grip battery now consists of loosening ONE screw and sliding the door off of the project box and poppin' a new batt in :). It's so simple, it can be done on the field mid-game in seconds. I hope this info helps anyone who's interested in upping their 98C a bit into the scenario level. Also, I know it doesn't look like an M4 at all really.. I just named it the M498R when I bought the M4 mag before any of the other big upgrades =). Kinda thought it had a nice ring to it heheh. Btw, it's sick in speedball as well.. I take off the raised rail, the hand gaurd, and maybe even the mag.. leaving the interceptor on. It's pretty formidable that way =) PS: I was thinking of changing my 9V battery setup to AAA's for longer battery life.. unless anyone knows where to buy 9V Duracels or Duracel Ultras in bulk for cheap : / ....anyone? |

I like Opsgear and it is a great place to get all types of mods. I just like to make my own look of gun instead of one of their kits. It would look even cooler with a red dot or sight on that rail. Nice gun though 9/10!!! Edited by IronFox - 26 March 2006 at 1:45pm |

Can anyone else confirm that the e-grip will work with the 98 Custom? I've
been trying to get information on this and Tippmann is saying that it will not fit. I've gotta know! |
