Ok, i just purchased an A-5 from a friend. When I got it, it worked great.
But I went to go play with it on Saturday and it kept on acting strange for some reason. I would go chrono it, but it's like the velocity settings would never go down. I would keep on adjusting it and it just wouldn't turn down. It was weird. It was shooting way to hard to play with. Does anyone know what may be wrong with this thing? |

Check the drive spring and make sure it's not an aftermarket one that's used to raise velocity.
Internals might be polished too, that increases velocity. Is it stock? Make sure you're screwing the velocity screw clockwise to lower the velocity. Edited by Bango - 29 March 2006 at 4:53pm |

hmm, maybe turning velocity screw the wrong way. The drivespring could make sense too...

could always cut the spring, but i don't recommend that.

I would guess whoever owned it before thinks shooting hot is cool and put some kind of spacer in the end cap to give the drive spring more tension.
If not you can always trim the spring down, clip off one or two loops and chrono, and take off more if you need. |
