Apex shoots further and apparently is more accurate. You can also buy one of these apex adapters when you buy the Apex and it allows you to put the Apext tip on to any other barrel. That'll give you an accurate barrel that can also shoot further than a flatline.

I own a Flatline and have used an Apex.  Compared to each other, besides the longer trajectory the Apex/Flatline gives you, the Apex adds the option to change the trajectory of the paintball to curve to the left/right with a simple twist of the barrel tip.  The Apex barrel also accepts a wider selection of paintballs than the Flatline, which works better with smaller bore size paintballs.

Well, I have a FlatLine and love it. Works well for me.

But like Bango posted, you can get the Underground Mod Shop's collar and mount the Apex on any barrel you want. I saw one mounted on a 20 inch J&J ceramic. It was for a scenario sniper rifle. Looked awesome, like a suppressed long gun. It will use more air with no real bennifit, other than looking cool, but hey, some of us like to be stylish while painting the other team.

I dont own either and have never shot either.. I have been shot at by both many times...  I will tell you this... the flatline is like dumb bomb and just goes one way.... the apex is more like a smart bomb.  A competent user of an apex can dial in within a few shots and curve around your bunker, or OVER it.... i think the apex can also adjust the severity of curve it imparts opon the painball, which the flatline cannot...

Personally id rather be shot at by a flatline... that atleast i can hide from.
