Tip I've heard is really lowball yourself, so people jump on it and drive it up themselves.

1.  Get paypal.

2.  Only sell things that are "common", so you can guesstimate the final price.

3.  Get good pictures, and make a good description.

4.  Start the auction at $1.

5.  No reserve.

6.  Don't do 1-day auctions.

Always write your description for the item like anyone looking at it absolutely needs it. Act like it's a shame you have to get rid of it. Start the bidding at $1 with some kind of reserve. Only deal with paypal.

Do buy it now, but set the price above what items of the same nature are going for.

If done right, yoou'll get more for buy it now then for a normal auction.

I was selling an IMP and the auction was only at $200, and that was the general selling price at the time, but someone did a buy it now for $400 with only an hour left. I was expecting only $250 at most.

Dont care why, just happy he did.

Be very descriptive and take good pictures. Also, watch other auctions for the same item for a week or so beforehand.

dont put a reserve on it. i buy things off ebay and nobody bids on things with reserves, have good feedback, offer a email adress for people with questions, be VERY descriptive tell how many times its been used, take many pics of it, And instead of putting a reserve put the starting bid on the amount you want.

perhaps the greatest movie ever

Do you have an ebay account with feedback?
Thats the first thing I look for. If its a new seller, I tend to stay away from that seller.

Make sure that you ship the product as soon as possible after receiving the payment through Paypal.  Keep in mind that you will need to bubblewrap or add some padding to the item to lessen any hard impact during transit.  And be specific with what payments you will accept.  If you do not want to deal with International shipping, then include that message with your posting.  I also add a message for buyers who have several negatives not to place a bid if they are not serious with purchasing the product.  Enjoy your Ebay transaction.

i knew a guy who made like 30k a year selling on ebay part time.

he gave me these tips

-start at $0.01
-no reserve
-good pics
-good description
-if its not as high as you want pull it a short time before the auction ends (i think ebay restricts the time so you might have to do it 12h before or more)

Yeah, I thought about that. I've got like an 18 or 19 rating, but this would be my first sell....
