    Posted: 08 April 2006 at 6:06pm
Who's got $65 for a remote?!  I brought my setup into a local industrial hose and fitting place, and got this connected for $20.

It's a little stiff on it's own, but once you have the tank secured, and you feel the weight of the marker, it's great :)

Feel free to comment :P

*UPDATE*

My dad had some zipties lying around, so I changed to that, and I taped it up nicely.  Much better :)

The hose was professionally cut and crimped with the fittings tefloned and lock-tighted, and the hose can stand 3000psi.

You won't find this at a hardware store.  Go to the yellowpages.com and search your city for pneumatic stores, and look for hosing and fitting specialists.

On a standard tank with co2 threading, you will probably have to remove the asa and attach it to the tank, and then attach the hose there etc... I didn't do that because my tank isn't a screw on.

Take note that this will not be as flexable as a remote, but It's perfect if you ask me.  You may want to show up at the store and ask to see a piece of the line befor they cut it for you, to make sure it's flexible enough for your taste.

PS you could use steel braided hoseline, and it would be just as good, but it might kink more often.  This will never have a problem kinking.

well your dollar is worth more, you don't have to pay tax, and you don't have to pay the added cost from having it shipped to your country :P

a new remote line here is $50 CND on average.  (Plus taxes.)

Nice rig. You should see if you couldnt have a block machined to fit on the grip and run your hoses through it.

Naw, I'm going the cheap route :P  If anyone can think of anything from a hardware store for under $5 to hold that hose, I'd appreciate it.

Maybe zip-ties?

I'm glad I came across this one too.  I've never heard of two regulators built onto a tank befor this came along.  Now I'm just going to sell the secondary reg I got.

you saved maybe 15 bucks ... still a good amount of savings

ctchofday/ultmate98-  if you actually read, you would know that he is in canada.  US dollar> canadian dollar

And we do have to pay tax, 6%.

It's not the difference in money, it's also because all that crap is made in the US and when it is brought up here, hey have to add a bit to make up for the shipping costs.  ON AVERAGE (like I said) a new remote is $50 CND.  This cost me $20 CND.  Either way, I saved 3/5 of what it's worth to me, so who cares lol.

Yeah, It's not comfortable to me.  I either hold the hose or I put my hand under the cyclone.

What would I do without you to buy me things ;)

Well, $20 CND is about $15 USD.  So, if they're usually $35 USD I still saved $20 USD.

Less than half price :)
