im buying one of the new 98c's with ACT and im def gonna upgrade the barrel. Since i decided to buy one ive been leaning towards getting a flatline. I dont really stick to any posistion such as mid rear or front, though usually i am in the front. Is the flatline good for me or is there another barrel i should get. I heard the flatline was an amazing barrel but if you break a ball during a match your completely screwed.

Well are you playing woods or speedball? Flatlines are nice for the woods, not for speedball. However, you said that you are usually toward the front of a game, so you wouldn't be long balling, so I think the flatline may be overkill for you. Look into a J&J Ceramic 12-14inch, they are great barrels for the price. It really depends on where you play on the field. Ask yourself this question: Do you usually try and hit a person from a ways off, and have the ball drop and hit the ground around their feet? If so, get the flatline, if not look into a different barrel.

i've used my flatty on a 98 custom exclusively for speedball. unparrelelled when it comes to taking out the best player on the opposite team, there are so few barrels out there that come close to the range that you get with it, however it is at best only moderately accurate at range so id you do indeed play up front i'd go with a lapco or a J&J ceramic in the 8-10" range |
