I have a big question for all you techs out there...
Does anybody possibly know the force it takes to depress the valve stem of the low pressure valve, with a compressed air pressure of about 200 psi? Anyone? Thanks to anyone that can help |

Hmmm, well, we could calculate it. I am going to approximate the surface area of the poppet valve at .1103 sq. inches (using pi times radius squared...the diameter of the valve is approximately 3/8", so the radius is 3/16" and I use 3.14 for pi) . Since the 200 is in pounds per square inch we should be able to multiply the .1103 sq. inches times 200 pounds per sq inch (sq inches cancels out leaving pounds as units) giving 22.08 pounds. So you would have to push on the stem of the low pressure power valve with 22.08 pounds of force to open it against 200 psi inside the valve. |
