Hmm... that depends if you are willing to buy used. If you are, you can get some really nice guns for $500. If not, then I'd suggest that you buy a ProMaster, or an Ion. Also remember with any of these guns you'll want to get a HPA tank and good hopper.

You could probably find a Nerve, but you'd be close to the $500 mark. I'm not a fan of Diablo guns, so thats gets a no from me. Look into an Ion. They're running for $200 now and you can find a used tank and Halo for another $200 or so.

If your just getting into speedball, I advise using www.pbgear.com
and purchasing a stock ION for $200. Along with that, you can
spend the other $300 on upgrades such as barrels (UL, CP, Freak),
boards (I advise Virtue) and other necessary upgrades such as uni's,
reg's, and feednecks.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Ion is probably your best choice right now.  But a must IMO is to get a new board, and like Rick_James said, the Virtue gets my vote too.  Once you get that, you should get HPA and a Halo or another hopper if you already don't have them.  And if you want to get into customizing real quick like I do and get it over with...you could look into getting a new body for it.  I would suggest Dark products because they have an undisputed lifetime warranty.

go for an ion best if your just now getting into speed. i got mine about 3 weeks ago and it is awesome, i sugest a new trig and feedneck...then you can go on to boards and body kits.

yah, get a ion instead of pm like i said,

its $200, and you can make it better than a pm w/ $300 in ups

ion +$300 in ups- better than - a promaster + $100 in ups

but then theres the Defiant 2 for $410, IMO its better
