I took my gun apart today, and i made sure everything was sitting properly. When i went to put the other half of the frame on, it wouldnt sit right, but when i tighed the screws in, it seemed ok. Is this normal? or is there something blocking the frame to sit right?

Most of the time the pieces that kept it apart for me was the safety. Make sure thats in straight and also the trigger pins are in correctly.Other than that shut it and if it doesnt close look through the space in the clam shells and you should see what it is keeping it open.

it was the new stock i put in, it had this weird O-ring on it that was making it not fit in the gun right, so i took it off

Was it a buffer o-ring?
If so, you need that to prevent wear. |

I had a similar problem with a stock I put on a 98. If its the o-ring that is actually on the stock just tighten the reciever bolts down around it. That o-ring is there to help keep the stock in place and prevent it from spinning.

the buffer o-ring is what yoo have highlighted in your pic it acts as a buffer when the rear bolt slams back it hits that giving it a bit of cusion rather than slamming into the plastic cap.
