I just played a scenario game with my 98c about a month ago and had no problems with it. Came home after the game, and immediately cleaned and oiled it.
I took it back out today, and it seems every few rounds, it doesn't shoot anything. I pull the trigger and I'm actually getting the gas through, noise and everything, just like a normal shot, but there isn't a paintball coming out of the barrel. I'm not firing very fast either, maybe 3 or 4 rounds a second with the stock hopper and trigger, and a full 20oz CO2 Tank. Any ideas? Thanks in advance |

Most Likely your hopper is jamming.

So the best solution would be to get as far away from the stock hopper as possible, right?

Exactally. Thats why I went with the cyclone hopper. It's just as expensive
as a high class hopper like an Eggy. |

I just saw two good used Halo B's go for $40 and $45 respectively on Ebay. As recommended by another post, the Cyclone is a good alternative. |

Okay, thanks for the help so far everybody. I suppose whatever hopper I upgrade to *has* to be electronic, right?

No it doesn't. You can get a cyclone, which is pneumatic, but is just as fast or faster than some electronic ones.

when you took the gun apart to clean did you put the ball detent in backwards? this will prevent any ball from dropping to the chamber. also the cyclone feed system is a positive feeding hopper and will deliver the balls to the chamber as fast as you can shoot your gun without a chop. the only way to have a chop problem with a cyclone is by buying cheap junk paint. have fun

Positive the ball detent is in the right way. I'd like to stray from the cyclone if at all possible, because it means I would have to cut away my custom work and redo it to make the cyclone fit. If I have to it's not a big deal, but again, I'd prefer not to. Time to go hopper shopping I suppose.
Thanks again everybody. |
