last time i went paintballing, the two valve scews came out at one point, i dont know exactly when it happened but i saw that they were missing at the end of the day. when i took my gun apart to clean it, i noticed there was a very very small hole in the plastic part of the valve that i can see where one of the valve screws goes in. is this hole supposed to be here, or do i have to get a new valve? |

Which marker do you have? Also, the confusing part is your reference to "plastic part" of the valve. The valve is aluminum and the screws thread into the aluminum body of that valve. The plastic part is the power tube. There are certainly two holes through the side of the power tube through which the screws reach to thread into the power valve. Now, we need more clarification to analyze the problem. |

Bruce, you can assume that because it has "two screws" in the valve it is a 98. However I can't even begin to comprehend the rest of it.

If you lost the two screws that bolt the valve to the side of the receiver, then yes, you'll probably need a new valve. The valve body is very soft aluminum, and the threads are probably stripped, hence the reason the screws fell out.

So the A-5 valve is not held by a similar screw set up? Edited by Bruce A. Frank - 15 May 2006 at 4:35am |

If I am thinking right for this early in the morning, no it isnt. Because when you field strip the A-5, you only have undo the pins for the valve to come out. I don't recall ever having to undo 2 screws in the right side reciever half. |

You can get the new screws at any hardware store. I am assuming that you
are using a 98 because of the two valve screws. They are 10-32 threadded. Just make sure you are using loctite when you replace them. The third hole MIGHT be the tap hole for the r/t and cyclone. Just get another 10-32 screw and use that if you are lazy like me. Edited by FarSeer - 16 May 2006 at 12:21am |

Hmm... have you ever tightened those screws? because when I installed
my X-chamber when I had no clue what I was doing, I stripped those
holes out very easily. Waited a month to get a valve.
