Hey, I was wondering is their a big diffrence between the gram size the
BB's are such as, .12, .20, and .25? like do the .25grams
fly straighter then 12's or... is just all personal preferance?

The heavier the BB with the same velocity, the heavier BB will travel farther and straighter. Example which flies farther, a golf ball or a ping pong ball, same basic diameter, throw them, which goes further and hits where you want it to at distance. Another advantage in heavier BB's will punch thru foliage, leaves and such and still stay basically on course.
Yes impact energy is more with heavier BB's but not as bad as many believe. I use .29's or .32gr 6mm BB's at 440fps in my XM21 and can hit out to 125meters, and from all accounts the hit feels just as any other bb hit at shorter range. |

Price depends on quality desired. A good Tokyo-Mauri will run $225-300, a good Classic Army $300-400.
But understand little or no upgrades required out of box you are good to go, just a $18.00 rechargeable battery, and a few magazines and that will be your last large cost factor in the sport. www.airsoftextreme.com www.kastwayairsoft.c om |

Airsoft with a good group of people is more intense than paintball. Ranges being doubled or tripled makes you think more. And the MilSim theme is not in doubt, it is a "wargame" or SWAT simulation whatever, we do no worry about PC. And once you forget the paintball mentality and realize you can hit what your aiming at at 60 plus meters there is no need for "spray and pray", selector on semi, aim shoot, hit, hense you have to think more as you move and pick position, because it works both ways. Machineguns firing upwards of 650rpm, "sniper rifles" reaching out twice the distance you can shoot, a true milsim enviorment.
Velocity and BB match is almost a science. Shooting a full sized rifle has differant properties than a carbine, or a MP5 SMG type. A full sized M16A2, M14 etc will out range and be more accurate than a M4 Carbine, and way out range a MP5 SMG type at the same velocity firing the same weight BB. In my XM21(M14) being a high velocity 400 plus (440fps for more expierienced games)rifle rules demand semi only, and I can use .20's or .23's which reach out a little further, but heavier BB's have a flatter, less drift trajectory, and still can hit out to 125meters, so it is a compromise just like firing a 160gr or 180gr from a real 7.62 M14. The sport is maturing fast, established groups, rules and new weapons all the time. With none of the commercial field bravo sierra. Even established paintball fields are courting the major airsoft scenario events. There is a sound card in developement which will give the rifles the real sound when fired of their real cousin. 8mm Garand rifles which use a 8 round clip just as the real rifle, ejecting the clip after the last round just like the real one. M2 BMG Heavy Machineguns, SVD's, AK's, M16's, Mp5's, the realm of weapons cater to any "role" you care to portray. And PD's are beginning to use this as a better training aid because of the weapons being real weight and size, and magazine capacities as the real thing. |

if your just looking at the guns be sure to look over the brands or you'll get ripped off. my friend got one and i knew it would be bad. it was from a chinese company with no instructions and everything was plastic. the magazine broke the first time. i got a sig, m16, and pistol. i'm looking at getting an electic thompson |

Satin? A smooth fabric, as of silk or rayon, woven with a glossy face and a dull back. |

alright airsoft bbs are not metel none of them are their plastic. but i say the .12g are better for the cheap kind of gunis such as pistols P.O.S. aegs like the one i have but i really recomend .2g are good all round. i havent tried the tippmann airsoft but they look really well built. im a paintballer and airsofter as a person with out a job ari soft is cheaper in the long run the guns are a little more expencive at first for a good one but the pellets are cheaper that paint.

why do people think you have to choose between airsoft and paintball? i hate people like that. airsoft is fun. paintball is fun. but they are a little different kinds of fun....
