So preparing for painting our house a few min ago I was out spraying bleach on the eves and walls so its easier to preassure wash when I hear this awfully loud buzzing. I think to myself "Gee, I wonder if they are running the bobcat (our neighbor has one), you know, if I was on the mainland I'd be pretty scarred though cause damn, that sounds like a crap load of bees . . ."
It was. There couldnt have been less then a few thousand, they covered our entire front lawn in this giant swarm. We dont get bees in Hawaii, the only swarms we see up here are tourists trying to make it to the sunrise on Haleakala. Anyone else have bee swarms? |

Never bees here, but birds. Our house was totally covered in birds this one day and they just wouldn't leave. It really felt like the movie.

We sometimes have bee/wasp problems around here, but none nearly as bad as yours.

We get alot more wasps and yellow jackets. Most of the bees around here are just happy little dudes that don't bother you, even when you smack the poor fellas around.

we have these things called carpenter bees, they dont sting. but..
we have this wooden shed, and these bees, and make PERFECT holes in the wood, and have tunnels going through the wood and stuff. we filled the holes but they just make more, so sooner or later its gonna collapse and they're all gonna die. they are also aggressive and try to scare you. me and my dad just smack them with a dustpan. its hilarious. |

O man this reminds me of the time I threw a beer bottle at some bee keeper guy.
Story goes... Had a bees nest inside the walls of my old duplex. I heard it for a few days and payed lil attention to it, well it was in the walls of my bedroom and started to get a lil freaky and the buzzing was getting louder each day. I finally called the land lord and 2 days later an exterminator comes in, sprays what he thinks is the hive entrance and plugs it with aluminum foil but the lil buggers fought through that and started to come in the house. Now a Bee keeper is called into action. He comes over and sprays all over the place, gives me this schpeel (sp) about his life and bees and then tells me good day. These bees are tough, what he did didnt faze them one bit. So he comes back a second time. I tried to explain a more logical possible solution to the problem but he's the expert (in his eyes) and started to get all huffy about how he's the expert and knows what to do. This lead into a pretty good arguement and needless to say he told me to go **** myself and got in his truck to leave, that's when the beer bottle went flying at his truck. I purposly did not hit the truck but I should of put the bottle right on his windshield. The bees finally left the next day after I bug bombed the house and put a few bottle of bug spray in the area where I thought the bees were entering the house. |
