Flatline not accurate

Water, oil, or paint in barrel - Make sure the barrel is as dry as possible. If there is any moisture in the barrel such as water, oil, or paint, this will affect the accuracy.

Bad or poor quality paintballs - When paintballs are old, dimpled, ovaled, or are coated with oil, they will not fly accurately and should be replaced.

Velocity too high - If the velocity is set on high, you are going to be forcing the paintballs through the barrel, which may cause them to be fired erratically.

Bad or damaged barrel - If the barrel has burrs, dents or any other rough edges, paintballs will not fire accurately.

Yeah i use stinger paint and yes i got hit in the shroud once. Ive been thinking of using marbillizers just for my flatline. Any other paint that works good in the 98 flatline.

Try some Evil paint...my flatline loves em.

Tippya5extreme covered most of the things to check. A point also is that even if no paint has broken in the barrel there is a residue build up from the surface of the paintballs (any brand). The textured surface of the inside of the barrel gets coated and the ball doesn't develop proper backspin. The ball can skid rather than roll in the barrel which makes for some very erratic flight.

After every case of paint or so you should wash the inside of the barrel using hot water and dish detergent (Dawn is good) to remove this residue.

Also, expensive paint like Marballizer is not necessary for excellent accuracy. I have been getting absolutely spectacular performance from Nelson Hemorrhage at only $37 a case! This is small paint and in my marker is every bit as accurate as was Marballizer or All Star.

The best hand held chrono is about $70. Too high velocity will defiantly cause inaccurate flight from the Flatline. You'll buy all kinds of accessories to improve your marker, but setting accurate velocity will do more for you than most mods.

This is your answer right here. Anything over 275-280 will make your balls go where ever they choose.

Whoa! Every day I am amazed at the questions that get asked when there have been thousands of posts, easily found in a search, talking about the fact that the textured surface inside the Flatline is a bead blasted surface. They blast the inside of the barrel with sand to roughen it. There is no coating, of any kind, applied to the inside of the Flatline barrel.

Use a swab type barrel cleaner. Immerse the barrel in a sink of hot water and dish detergent and run the mop type swab back and forth...first one direction then the other...several times. Then rinse well with hot water and stick in the dish drain rack to dry.

huh... well, i learned something today...

make sure the valve screws are tight.  a couple of years ago at twc i had the tippmann techs work on my gun.  then half way thru the day i installed my buddies flatline and it rocked for like 4 shots then went to crap. i got back to the dead zone and noticed that the valve screws where missing/stripped from them using friggin dewalt cordless drills to tighten screws.
