Well lets take the freak barrel kit. Theres the back that has a specific bore size and then the inserts which are certain bore sizes. You choose the right insert that fits the ball the paint you're using and it is very accurate I hear. A one piece has only one specific bore size and you should buy paint that fits accordingly.

Technically the Freak is a three piece kit; a back (which only serves to thread into the gun and hold the inserts) the insert (which is the sizer piece, match paint to insert for optimal perfromance) and the front, which allows the ball to gain the speed it needs and to help stabilize it's flight. Most 2 piece barrels are composed of a back which is essentially like a Freak back/insert combo. The front serves the same purpose as with the freak. People buy kits so they can shoot a side variety of paint. Ideally you would want a single piece barrel for each bore of paint, but that's expensive and the accuracy loss due to the change of elevation (back is almost always smaller than the front) in 2 or 3 piecers is almost zero. |

It allows you to closely match your paint to your barrel, so yes.

Interesting point of view. There are several two piece barrels out there that do not have inserts at all. So please, inform me of why a two piece barrel (you never mention inserts) is better... If you don't maybe I will post back tomorrow with some education for you... |

Extra length allows you to tuck into an airball bunker more easily.

I think you're a bit backwards there, buddy. Extra length makes the gun stick out further from the bunker, making it more difficult to play tight against bunkers. |

No I don't, there buddy. A longer barrel presses into the bunker and allows you to shoot without revealing as much of your body. A short barrel will press in, but wont clear the bunker completely and wont allow you to shoot. Edited by Oedipus - 22 June 2006 at 5:30pm |

MMMMmmmmkay. In a thread about which is better, one or two piece, you say a two piece lets you change the length. It can safely be assumed you believe this is an advantage. Thankfully, someone posted a REAL advantage of a longer barrel. In a thread about painting a gun and what kind of paint is best, I would say "Krylon, it dries faster." This is not only a true statement, but one can believe that I am suggesting that they use Krylong paint BECAUSE it dries faster. |
