Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

For us ignorant folk isn’t the 98 custom the newer replacement for the Pro-Carbine? So why is there still such a cult fallowing for the Pro-Carbine? Was the cust 98 like a step down or something? |

Yes, and no. The 98c has a much vaster array of upgrades as compared to the P/C. But for over all reliability, the P/C was probably better. They were a rock. That, and the P/C seems to have more individuality to it. Most of the mods required a persons expertise, not just drop ins. It made it more personal. Also, when guns get "aged" they tend to gather a "cult flollowing." A good example of this is mags and 'cockers. Edited by DeTrevni - 12 July 2006 at 8:07pm |

You would also need to mill down the "fins" on the bottom of the carbine and drill and tap holes for the grip to mount on there. |

Technically the Model 98 was the replacement for the Pro Carbine. But people are still crazed about the Pro Carbine because it's an excellent marker. The 98 Custom replaced the Model 98.... |

I would consider the A-5 the replacement not the 98. The pro-carbine wasn't discontinued that long ago.

LMAO! I got one of those! Proudly, I scored a sweet first gun for me. Already tweeked the trigger spring and mounted up a J&J Ceramic 16" ..ok.. 16" is overkill but I only paid $29 for it.

I bought a .68 Carbine, before the Pro/Carbine. I still own it and it fires like new. After a 8 year break from paintball I'm thinking about getting back in and since my Cocker is older than some players, it's going to be stripped down to a Sniper II. My question is how much have the after market parts changed? I'm only looking to upgrade the barrel and possibly the trigger/lower assembly on the carbine.

on a .68 i dont think there are any ups around, youll have to custom make it all, i dont know what barrel threads they use, but i bet you could find something for a barrel, other than that, your on your own.
i saw that e1-ed pc, it was so fast, like 25 bps, it was great |

Thanks I guess I'll keep looking, I saw that the .68 barrel might use the same threading as the p/c or even a pl. I don't really need to go 25bps. I'm of the old school, I started with a pump and I'm probably going back to a pump. My sniper II will probably be my main marker, Speedball and Woods. I'm also going to get a new AutoCocker for when I want to spread some paint. But the game has changed so much, one of the reasons I got out. It felt great walking on a field this weekend with my 11 year old spyder and only use 75 rounds and remain in the game longer than those reloading after 5 mins. Just takes patients to aim, it only takes one shot. |
