    Posted: 18 July 2006 at 10:52am
Hello, everyone! I am seriously considering offering up my a-5 on E-bay, and using the proceeds from that, which should easily cover the price tag of the new c-3, to buy said gun. The gun seems like it would fit my style a little more than my current getup. I was just wondering if anyone could give me any opinions on the c-3.

A little about my playing style: I prefer to play very "ninja," some have called me a sniper, but, that terms leaves a funky taste in my mouth. I like to get close range, and do the whole one shot one kill and dissapear thing. Seems to me that th c-3 would be ideal for this, less refilling, I hardly use my a-5 as a spray-n-pray gun, anyways, but yeah, I s'pose I'd also like to introduce myself to the forums. Sorry for the randomness....any opinions?

Thanks in advance!

I have a C-3, and it is a nifty gun.

BUT - frankly, with any pump gun refilling isn't really an issue.  A small CO2 tank will last all day when playing pump, and probably a couple of days.  The efficiency aspect for the C-3 is more an issue if you simply don't have access to fills at all.

Other pumps will be smaller, lighter, have easier pump strokes, and more aftermarket upgrade options (since the C-3 currently has none).

I would primarily recommend a C-3 for two reasons:  First, if you simply cannot easily get CO2 fills at all.  Second, if you like having a gun that is very unique and different ("MY gun has a combustion chamber and a spark plug").  Otherwise, you might consider different pump guns, like a Phantom or Sniper.

Just my thougthts.

Welcome to the forum.

I'd keep the A-5 but that's my opinion...

C-3's are pretty cool. Pump is so much fun. I'd say go for it.

but keep in mind it's loud...  other than that, it's a very decent marker.  i've dry fired one before...  very comfy, balanced, and not that hard to pump.  and i really like the sights on it...

...whew, when i first opened this thread, i thought for sure it would be a selling thread.  i was pleasently suprized...

Only thing I’d offer up to mill over is right now an A5 works as a one shot one kill gun if you want to play “ninja” as you put it. But if you ever go and play speedball or scenario where you have to lay down a lot of paint a C-3 just isn’t going to do it for you where as your a5 will still treat you right. I’m not knocking the C-3 it looks fun but its limited to what it can do. Personally I would hang onto the a5 and pick up a pump gun as a secondary gun along the road.

then again, a pump gun will FORCE you to become a good player. with semi there's always a temptation to spray and pray...

I would say Rambino hit the nail on the head, unless you 'need' a C-3 for any reason, there are better pumps out there. I have a CCI Phantom and I love it. I put down my Impulse and now play with my Phantom. Great marker, and they can be found used very often on the Phantom Owners Group forum found here: clicky.

Playing regular speedball with a pistol is the best.

Nothing like charging for the flag with your 10 shot pistol "blaring" and getting lit up as soon as you make it to it. Buy the C-3!

sorry to bring this back but...

why get the c-3? you can get a few, much better pumps for the price. as said the c-3 is meant for people who have no access to fill stations.

I have a C-3 and A-5 and I honestly prefer the A-5 more then the C-3. and the reason behind that is because the A-5 to me is more silent and I can use the sights alot better then I can on the C-3.

Now, here is where am afraid to say the down sides I have with my C-3 the first one being that you have to prime the gun before shooting...and i've learned (with my gun any way) It won't stay primed to long which sucks when you have someone coming your way and you put the trigger and only hear the sound of the spark plus going off. I also really don't like the idea of needing batteries to shoot it either cause I just don't trust them. Also there isn't any upgrades for the C-3.

But there is one thing good about this gun and thats it's distance and the price of the propane.
