There is already a topic about this in  paintball ideas but people have started to build them so this is more than an idea now.

A turret with a reciever from an RC car with servos used to fire and turn the turret remotely. I have designed the turning mechanism and you can look at the paintball ideas forum for the trigger.

Any suggestions on bettering the design or a new one would help

PS i tested the circuitry and it works on a small scale

EDIT: base design

EDIT: circuit i made

This seems like a good idea. I have a few RC servos and a controller that I don't use, so I might have to work on a remote controlled gun of my own. I have a couple of questions though...

Are you going to use a remote so you don't have to worry about weight of the tank? And do you know what kind of motor your going to use?

Sounds like you've got a good start though.

added base design

yes i was thinking of a remote to get the tank weight off

then just lay the tank on the ground

There could be problems when it turns with the remote getting tangled though...

It would be badass to see one of those off-road RC trucks with nothing but a marker on the chassis, then something like this over the barrel:

Think and give them all you have from the beginning, and never weaken!

This is like one of those things you need on like a 2 man paintball tank , like on a golf cart or something!

- Suggest a q-loader or something because the hopper will make it unbalanced on your tri-pod thingy..

it shouldnt be too hard to get it working.

now a camera would make it complicated

But i think the whole servo and receiver thing is pretty easy

UPDATE

I have the base of the turret made but I had to go with a square design instead of a triangle because my stupid mitor box doesnt cut 30* or 60* angles.

Anyone have any suggestions on ways to cut these angles accurately without a mitor box?

EDIT: Ok the tripod (with four legs ) should be done by tomorrow evening. I figured out the angle thing BTW
