    Posted: 07 August 2006 at 4:57pm

So i was out paintballing on saturday...and a problem arose with my 98 Custom. See before the start of the game.... i screwed in my CO2 and i heard a noise like propane running through a stove....then the air started leaking throught the bolt and the barrel. So i call myself out and asked the ref if he knew anything about it. He told me that my Cear was broken and i had to pay 30 bucks for a replasement and 50 to get it installed. What do you think? Ether way.....I get it replased for free if i send it to Tippmann cause I have one of there guns. Do you think my Cear's broken...or is its doing that because I fell in the deep end of the river at one of the fields and got my gun soakin' wet.

well then....as a last resort...SHOOT AT WHATEVER MOVES

It's not the sear.

Check your o-rings in the gun, and make sure they're all still there, and not cracked. Then, put oil all over them, and put the gun back together. Then, put a few drops of oil in the ASA (yes, where your CO2 goes), then pull the bolt back, THEN screw the tank in. Shoot 20 or 30 shots without the barrel on to work the oil through the gun.

If the leak doesn't stop after that, then think about sending it to Tippmann.

cock your marker before screwing in your CO2 and it shouldnt hiss at you like that .

If it does , then REMOVE your barrel and invert the marker , put about 6 drops of oil into the small hole of the ASA adapter (where your CO2 tank screws in) and dry fire the marker with CO2 to work the oil up into the internals of the valve , repeat the dryfiring about 40 times to blow out the excess oil , and then re-install your barrel. Oil in the barrel is as bad as broken paint, but much harder to see .

If you havent cleaned your marker since you took it swimming with you , I'd do that first while you're in there, lubricate per the instructions , or if you cant find them,,, look at the manuals at the top of these forums .

SL68-II , micro honed and polished .688" bore . Tuff Enuf .
Widowmaker , under construction
