So I'm looking for a cheap double trigger for my 98 and the regular one made by tippmann is looking really good so far. I looked it up on pbreviews and for the most part the reviews are good...except that practically everyone says that you have to like cut grips or something. I'm an extreme noob to the sport and I have no idea what that means. What are these grips? What purpose do they serve in a stock setup? Will cutting them have any long lasting effects? Once I cut them will I be able to set up the regular single barrel up again? And finally, is this particular barrel a good buy?

The trigger guard interferes with the top of the grips and so you have to cut a small piece out of them. It doesnt affect performance whatsoever. The GTA double trigger is nice, but I prefer the feel of a stick/blade style trigger more. |

The Tippmann GTA Trigger does not need the grip to be cut for installation. But a lot of others do.

I use the offical Tippman Double Trigger... no cutting needed and works fine, however be aware that a Double Trigger really won't up your rate of fire unless you are faster with two fingers.

you should be able to swap out the double trigger parts and the single trigger parts in just a few minutes once the marker halves (clamshells) are seperated , and swap them back just as easily . There is evidently a "Newer" style double trigger out , that I havent seen yet , but the old style double trigger kit required you to notch out a small bit of the rubber grip to mount the larger double trigger guard , again switching back wont be a bit deal in any case . those changes to your grips wont have any impact on performance whatsoever , and cosmetically ,will only be noticable if you know where to look . Upgrading and modifying your marker ,,"Customizing it" to suit you is what makes it yours ! Have fun . |

Uh.. the one that I got is this "Newer" style trigger then I guess, since that's ALL my paintball store carries I guess other stores just have old stock piles of the previous triggers.

quit saying barrel. and if your gun doesn't have an e-trigger, a double trigger won't really increase your rof. you may be able to shoot a ball or two faster, but it won't be noticable. i will say it feels better though and gives you less fatigue in your fingers. The only thing that will increase your ROF on your marker, is your ability to pull the trigger faster !! with that having been said , look for a post titled "Mother of all trigger jobs" posted by Layman a couple years ago in upgrades and customizing . This mod will make your "trigger pull" lighter and allow you to pull the trigger easier (faster) . Its CHEAP , and utilizes parts you've already gotten . Unless you'd rather buy an e-bolt, thats about the only way I can recommend to ijmprove your trigger performance . |

Double Triggers really will NOT up your fire rate as I said above, UNLESS you are faster with two fingers, I personally hate Response Triggers and E-Frames because it's more to break and more to worry about, The only good thing about them is that they fire fast.... which means it costs you more money because you waste paintballs faster. Remember, Tippmann guns are NOT tournament grade, I love them to death but they are NOT meant to go up against Shockers or Ions.. Ions you could probly do but people with Shockers will destroy you because of their ability to go into "RAMP" mode... which means if you are pulling the trigger and firing 10 pb's per sec, it automatically ups it to 15 pb's per sec... deadly as heck lol
