    Posted: 17 August 2006 at 1:11am

Ya I bought this gun about a year ago and have used it a few times and not really crazy about it. Each time I use it with the flatline on it it seems to chop balls and is VERY innacurate. I have a E-99 thats 10xs better, but anyways...I took it apart today to try to figure out the problem and i looked at the adapter that hooks from the flatline barrel to the gun and noticed that on the top there is a worn hole about half and inch long. I was wondering if this is supposed to be there or if the gun is just so old and ive taken the barrel off so many times that it has worn a hole in the top of the adapter?? the hole looks like it's not supposed to be there HELP SOMEBODY this could be my problem. The ball could be hitting that cut and makin the gun very innacurate. The hole is on the upper part of the adapter and is like a slit were the indention of the top of the barrel goes into. If this is my problem someone please let me know were to get a new adapter i can't find one anywere Thanks

Put the barrel all the way in the adapter. Take the screw out before you put
the barrel in. Try using smaller paint. Marballizers work well for the flatty.
Make sure your fps is 275ish. The flatty is not very accurate anyways. I
hope I helped.

That slit on the top of the adapter is supposed to be there. Where do you see paint when the balls break? Is it in the chamber where the bolt moves back and forth or at the very begining of the barrel or is it inside the barrel(I am talking about the beginning of the paint splatter)? If it is in the chamber, you could be chopping balls by either shooting to fast for your hopper, or that it hits something when entering the flatline, or else there is something protruding inside the barrel causing breaks. Make sure that the balls you use roll right out of the barrel to make sure that the paint isn't too big.

I reccommend scratching witness marks onto the barrel and adapter after you are positive that it is installed correctly.  Then all you have to do is line them up and tighten down the adapter... no more worrying about the adapter screwing up.

What you experienced was the barrel getting caught on the slot and the balls breaking between the space in the adapter and the barrel... it really makes you lose confidence in the barrel... until you realize it was your own damn fault.

Guys,

My Flatline manual suggests using a mallet to tap the barrel down snuggly into the adapter. Makes a lot of difference when you follow directions. Witness marks on the OUTSIDE of the barrel, adapter and receiver assure repeatability from one reassemble to the next.
