depends if you want to make a speedball or woodsball gun. if you want woods go with the A-5. if you want speed go with the 98 custom. since Tippmanns are known for their good woodsball guns, I would say the A-5 is their overall best gun. some people use really upgraded 98s for speedball, but in all honesty at that point you might as well move to a different gun instead of upping a 98.

You can still use an A-5 for speedball, I've seen and played with people that do. Although I personnally never have. But then again I don't play much speedball.
